A Vision: Kerrville River Trail Extension

The Kerrville River Trail is a treasure within the City of Kerrville Parks system.  What if that treasure was expanded to the eastern edges of the county, 8 miles to Lions Park in Center Point?

Trails are powerful.  They can promote health, improve public access to nature, stimulate economic development, create wildlife corridors, mitigate soil erosion, increase tree canopy and riparian health and function, protect critical land, and even create a sense of civic pride.

Extending the Kerrville River Trail could foster development of a "friends of the trail" movement to add supporting hands for maintenance and enhancements while ensuring a thriving trail system for generations to come.

The below pitch deck outlines the benefits and feasibility of a River Trail extension.  Alternate Route A demonstrates the proposed route to limit landowner impact, terrain difficulties, and construction costs.
